An Incredible track from Au5. Before the meat of the review starts id like to point out that i know this was more of a sample pack demo then a real Au5 compositional piece. That being said, it's pure earcandy. there are several sounds that are just beyond incredible, though overall really lacking in composition or good structure. Starting with the opening melody, 0:00, Its an amazing, rememberable opener that carries well through the song, though over time instead of building off of this melody, Au5 chooses to throw in completely structurally different sounds that really throw me off (though still a jam). For example, the first drop buildup 0:46 is incredible, but immediatly goes into a structure that loses all melodic flair and is reduced to bass cannons. I dont hate them, but i feel they really dont treat the opening with respect. The drops do however include the real earcandy pieces of the song, Examples include 1:07 and 1:20. This bass cannon drop with interpersed candy transitions into an amazing melodic piece, 1:25, blending amazing Au5 colour bass sound design with a melody that really respects the opening. Unfortunately, the melody isnt really explored much in favor of what I would consider a more dissonant, harder to follow part, 1:51. with some slightly reedeeming ear candy pieces like 2:03 and 2:08. Now transitioning into a transitional bridge, the opening melody comes back, fortunately with a lot more exploration which is the highlight of the song here. Amazing note articulation, clear ideas and an almost hypnotic transition into the second drop. This is some of Au5's best colour bass. (until Beyond Light :> ) Now here comes the second buildup, 3:18, with one of the best sounds ever produced in edm, 3:33 and its follow up 3:36. There is so much richness and depth, combined with choosing the perfect note to justapoze the sound of the buildup itself, I cannot stress how peak just this little sound is. Insane. Into the meat of the second drop, 3:42, It's entry and transitional bits are spectacular but unfortunately the composition is lacking much. Simple bass cannons dont cut it when youve allready shown your hand with such beautiful melodies. There are a lot of standout sounds here however, 3:51, 3:55, 4:04 and especially the transitional piece at 4:13 with a real chime style. Despite my complaining about generic bass cannons, I really enjoy the beats after that transition. I think they have real character and should have been the main rythym juxtaposing that succulent main melody. The final sendoff at 4:31, where you can even hear the sub-bass wind down like chopper blades contrasting with the twinkle-y higher frequency parts is just incredible. 4 years late to the party with this review, still a banger.

Teminite
Some of the best colour bass ever made, composed by an artist who doesnt even do colour bass! Overall i think the second drop, without the sax, destroys the opening drop which I'm personally not a fan of. Starting off, 0:00 opening melody, beautiful and rich, with real movement and progression smoothly transitioning into a completely different instrument, 0:26. Seamless, perfectly mixed. The overall instrument choice is a feast for the ears, though I am personally not a fan of the mixed in breathy vocals. (personal preference in music in general). Nonetheless, the first drop 0:52 starts throwing some interesting sounds out there but overall a fairly boring main rythym. Transitioning out is an amazing middle bridge 1:17. Simple lyrics that Teminite coaxes an incredible melodic piece out of, giving a small preview of the finale with the sax solo 1:42. In case you didn't know, this is Sam on the saxophone, not a midi. From his solo's in the unstoppable EP, you can really see some serious progression with his composition and skill here. Even the foundational bass lines and subtle piano notes compliment perfectly. 2:09, we are reaching the end of the bridge and moving into the second drop. You can hear traces of the drop itself in the background, which is incredible foreshadowing and something i really love. Its the perfect length and chreschendo's into an amazing transitional sound, 2:35. The now second drop is a major highlight here. Guitar style rich plucks contrasted with real growly intermediary notes, weaving a melody through the bass cannons, though subtle. Now Teminite shows his real true colours at 3:00, blasting into a section that takes that whole hard hitting bass drop and instead of replacing it, completely building on top of it with an amazing melodical section that he explores thouroghly over the remainder of the song. A true celebration of sound. Nothing from the first part of the second drop is lost, it's all built on top of each other for an incredible finale. Teminite doubles down AGAIN at 3:25, exploring an entire sax solo on top of that bass foundation, with some of the most care ive ever heard put into a melodic section in edm. Unfortunately short lived, forever remembered, gracefully calming down to a piano finale. One of Teminites best ever pieces, if not imo his best ever.

Teminite X SLUGZ
Headbanger!
Atmospheric opening, hard bass, though missing the composition Teminite is known for and going down an older, more basic route. The choir / vocals 0:00-0:27 are very well done and compliment the rest.
